US President Donald Trump has repeatedly warned Tehran against using lethal force on protesters and has said the United States is closely monitoring the situation.
On Tuesday, Trump announced a 25 per cent tariff on any country “doing business” with Iran, a move that could affect Tehran’s key trading partners, mainly China.
Among Iran's trading partners are China, Turkey, India, the UAE, Pakistan and Armenia.
He further said that there was a Starlink angle behind Trump's recent announcement.
In a security advisory, the US embassy cautioned that Iranian authorities may detain individuals seen carrying US passports or displaying links to the United States
