Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution Minster Piyush Goyal launched the sale of subsidised wheat under the brand 'Bharat Atta’ at a rate of ₹27.50 per kg. This follows the start of sale of subsidised ‘chana dal’ under the brand 'Bharat Dal' at the rate of ₹60 per kg in July. The scheme is yet another step by the government to control food inflation.
