In an exclusive interaction with BTTV’s Aastha Chopra, Rajendra Chodankar, Chairman of RRP Defence Ltd, shared key insights into the company’s strategic partnership with Franco-American firm CYGR. The collaboration aims to manufacture next-generation UAVs in India, aligning with the Make in India initiative. Chodankar revealed a $20 million contract offloaded for global defence exports, reinforcing India’s emergence as a drone manufacturing hub. He emphasized the use of French American technology combined with Indian manufacturing capability to meet tactical, industrial, and surveillance needs. Looking ahead, RRP Defence targets production of 3,000 drones per month from its new Navi Mumbai facility, including fixed-wing, nano, and ISR drones. Mr. Chodankar sees this move as a strong push toward 'Atmanirbhar Bharat' and India’s growing stature in global defence exports.
