Speaking in the Lok Sabha, the Civil Aviation Minister, K Ram Mohan Naidudelivered a strong message following IndiGo’s operational collapse, declaring that no airline—regardless of size will be allowed to cause hardship to passengers through planning failures, non-compliance, or negligence. He stressed that safety in civil aviation is “completely non-negotiable.” The Minister said IndiGo has assured full compliance with all norms and readiness for the winter schedule. He added that passenger interest remains central to every government decision, noting that stabilisation of operations is underway and refunds are being processed. So far, ₹750 crore has been refunded to affected flyers. The government, he said, has intervened to cap fares and is holding IndiGo accountable while pushing long-term reforms to make India’s aviation sector more passenger-centric.
