Home Minister Amit Shah took the BJP’s ‘Nasha Mukt Punjab’ campaign to the ground, meeting three families affected by the state’s drug crisis and targeting Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann’s government ahead of the 2027 Assembly elections. In Mansa, Shah met the family of anti-drug activist Parvinder Singh Jhota and promised justice in his murder case. He also met the families of Bikramjit Singh in Gurdaspur and Gulzar Singh in Sangrur. As Mann announced a CBI probe into Jhota’s killing, the BJP and AAP traded allegations over drugs, accountability and the future of Punjab’s anti-drug campaign.
