In a major boost to India's defence self-reliance, the Indian Navy has commissioned three indigenously designed and built frontline warships — INS Dunagiri, INS Sanshodhak and INS Agray. Prime Minister Narendra Modi presided over the commissioning ceremony and hailed it as a significant step towards building an Aatmanirbhar Navy. Built at Garden Reach Shipbuilders and Engineers and designed by the Navy's Warship Design Bureau, the vessels strengthen India's maritime capabilities. INS Dunagiri is a stealth frigate armed with BrahMos missiles, INS Sanshodhak is an advanced survey vessel, while INS Agray is a specialised anti-submarine warfare platform. The induction underscores India's growing strength in indigenous defence manufacturing.
