What is the biggest reform India needs to attract more global investors? At the India Today BRICS Roundtable, Business Today's Group Editor, Siddharth Zarabi spoke with Sachin Ahuja, CEO, Alfeco Holdings Group, on the challenges facing businesses and investors in India. Ahuja identified the speed of the justice system as one of the biggest drawbacks for investors, arguing that delays in securing legal relief can significantly impact large investments. He said a business investing billions needs quicker access to courts when disputes arise. The discussion also touched on India’s arbitration and insolvency framework, comparisons with China and Russia, and concerns around the criminalisation of bank defaults. Ahuja stressed that business inherently involves risk and that the legal framework needs to recognise and accommodate that reality.
