Cockroaches, Moldy Food & Open Drains! FDA Suspends Licences Of Mumbai's Top Clubs

Mumbai's food safety crackdown has now reached some of the city's most prestigious private clubs. After action against popular establishments like Rustom Ice Cream and Parsi Dairy, the Maharashtra Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has suspended the food licences of several elite clubs, including RK Juhu Gymkhana, MIG Cricket Club, Willingdon Sports Club, Cricket Club of India (CCI), and Aparna Juhu Gymkhana. FDA inspections allegedly uncovered shocking violations, including live cockroaches in kitchens, flies around food preparation areas, expired ingredients and many more. The Maharashtra FDA says the drive is part of a wider crackdown on food safety across the state. It has also directed school canteens to obtain food licences and announced stricter action against the sale of junk food on school campuses.
