Flydubai Cockpit Reconstruction: What Happened Inside The Flight Before It Landed Safely?

What could have happened inside the cockpit of the Flydubai flight during the reported pilot altercation? India Today recreates the cockpit environment of a Boeing 737, using an aircraft simulator and an experienced pilot to explain the controls, emergency systems and possible sequence of events. The reconstruction examines the reported changes to altitude and flight controls, the use of 7700 for an emergency and 7500 for unlawful interference/hijacking, and how cockpit procedures work when one pilot attempts to intervene in the aircraft’s controls. The report also explains the cockpit door, crash axe and Emergency Locator Transmitter (ELT). Importantly, the reconstruction does not establish the exact sequence of events inside the Flydubai cockpit. Investigators will determine what actually happened, including the cause of the reported injuries and whether any cockpit equipment was used during the altercation.
