From SMEs To STEM: Smriti Irani’s Vision For Women-Led India

BJP Leader Smriti Irani said India must treat gender equality as an economic necessity rather than just a social or moral issue. Speaking about the Alliance for Global Good, she outlined plans to support one lakh women-led SMEs across 300 cities through financial literacy, tax guidance, English certification and business training. Irani highlighted partnerships with institutions like the British Council, NSE and ICAR to help women scale businesses and join global supply chains. She also stressed the urgent need to support women in STEM and innovation, saying economically empowered women reinvest heavily in family health, education and long-term national development.
