Greater Noida Bus Fire: FIR Alleges Driver Smoked, Ignored Warning Before 9 Deaths

Nine people were killed after a sleeper bus caught fire on the Yamuna Expressway near Greater Noida on Wednesday night. According to the FIR, passengers noticed a burning smell from the driver’s cabin and alerted the driver and conductor, who allegedly continued smoking and did not immediately stop the bus. Police have arrested the driver and conductor as the investigation continues. A ground report from India Today also highlighted possible safety concerns, including the condition of emergency exits and modifications inside the bus. Police are examining survivor statements, the vehicle and other evidence to establish how the fire started and whether safety rules were violated.
