Gurugram Biker Hit-And-Run: Accused Arrested After India Today Investigation

A shocking hit-and-run case has emerged from Gurugram’s Golf Course Road, where biker Sia was allegedly rammed by a car and dragged for several metres before the vehicle sped away. The accused, Kalyan Bainsla, initially claimed the collision was accidental and alleged that Sia was riding too fast. Sia, however, alleged that the car was deliberately driven into her and questioned whether the accused was under the influence of alcohol.
Following sustained India Today reportage, Gurugram Police added an attempt-to-murder charge to the FIR and tracked the accused to Rajasthan, where he was arrested along with an aide. Police allege that the biker was deliberately hit and that there was an intention to kill her. The case has once again raised questions over road rage, reckless driving, accountability and the safety of women riders on Indian roads.
