The INDIA bloc has announced a coordinated campaign against Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar and the Special Intensive Revision of electoral rolls. Opposition parties have planned ‘Save Democracy’ marches from October 2 to 8, a march to the Election Commission on October 6, five major rallies and a mega rally in Delhi on November 1. The bloc is also seeking a meeting with President Droupadi Murmu and faster hearings on SIR-related cases in the Supreme Court. But questions over opposition unity remain, with Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav absent from the meeting. The Congress-SP relationship also faces fresh tensions ahead of the 2027 Uttar Pradesh polls.
