Seafarer Rohan Kumar from Bihar’s Gopalganj district was killed after missile attacks struck two Emirati oil tankers in the Strait of Hormuz. Rohan, the youngest of three brothers, had returned to work on June 8 after spending time with his family. Relatives said he was serving aboard MT Al Bahiyah when the attack occurred. His death has devastated a household that depended heavily on his earnings. India has condemned the targeting of commercial vessels, lodged a strong protest with Iran and promised assistance to affected nationals. For Rohan’s grieving family, a distant conflict has become an unbearable personal tragedy.
