India’s Hidden Gems Could Unlock A $500 Bln Export Opportunity: ICIB’s Manpreet Singh

India could be sitting on a massive untapped export opportunity as thousands of Indian companies remain focused largely on the domestic market. At the India Today BRICS Roundtable, Business Today's Group Editor, Siddharth Zarabi spoke with Manpreet Singh, President, Indian Chamber of International Business (ICIB), about whether Indian industry can become truly global. Singh said even companies in tier-2 and tier-3 cities are generating hundreds of crores in business without significant exports, highlighting the scale of the opportunity if these firms expand overseas. He also pointed to BRICS as a platform that can bring global businesses to India and help foreign companies identify Indian “hidden gems” for partnerships, mergers and acquisitions.
