The Kanpur-Lucknow Expressway, inaugurated in the presence of Union Ministers Rajnath Singh, Nitin Gadkari and Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, has required its fifth repair within just 20 days of opening. The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has ordered an inquiry and removed three engineers after fresh damage was reported. Officials say the issue is limited to the upper bituminous layer and pavement, while the bridge's foundation and structure remain safe. A technical team is investigating the recurring problem on the ₹4,200-crore, 63-km six-lane expressway.
