Karan Adani Reveals Timeline For $11.5 Billion Odisha Aluminium Project

Adani Group has unveiled one of its biggest manufacturing investments yet. Following the signing of an MoU with the Odisha government, Karan Adani outlined the roadmap for the group's proposed USD 11.5 billion (around ₹1.08 lakh crore) integrated aluminium project. He said the company expects to secure all land and regulatory approvals within the next 12–18 months, with Phase I—comprising the alumina refinery and aluminium smelter—expected to become operational in around 4 to 4.5 years.
Karan Adani also explained that the project will be funded through a combination of internal accruals from Adani Enterprises and debt, while the group is working closely with the Odisha government to secure long-term bauxite linkages. He said the decision to enter the aluminium business is driven by the expected surge in demand from digital infrastructure, manufacturing and industrial growth, positioning aluminium as a long-term strategic opportunity.
