Maharashtra’s Food and Drug Administration has intensified its crackdown on food safety violations across Mumbai. In its latest drive, nine eateries had their licences suspended, including five establishments linked to the Mumbai Cricket Association — Permit Room, Pavilion, Mediterranean, Oriental Swing, and Clubway & Pastry Counter. FDA inspections reportedly found lapses including poor cleanliness, improper food storage, inadequate temperature control, poor ventilation and hygiene concerns. The crackdown is also extending to schools, with 250 schools and nearby eateries inspected across the state. Meanwhile, checks on milk and dairy products have intensified, with 7,332 litres of milk, 104 kg of curd and 88.4 kg of cream seized during the statewide drive.
