Maharashtra’s food safety crackdown on restaurants has intensified after a customer in Borivali West allegedly found a dead mouse inside a Mysore Masala Dosa at Radhakrishna Hotel. The customer says he had eaten several bites before spotting it, following which the FDA suspended the restaurant’s licence and launched an investigation. The wider crackdown is now facing another controversy. Shiv Sena UBT MP Sanjay Raut has alleged that some FDA officials demanded bribes from businesses facing action, including payments to withdraw closure notices or restore suspended licences. FDA chief Tukaram Mundhe has said he has zero tolerance for corruption, while stressing that action requires concrete evidence.
