Civil Aviation Minister Ram Mohan Naidu highlighted how new airports and flight routes can transform local tourism and economic activity. Speaking about India’s expanding aviation connectivity, he said every new airport or route should be viewed in terms of the tourism economy it can create. He cited Purnia and Darbhanga in Bihar, along with Kishangarh, Shivamogga, Belgaum, Kadapa and Kurnool, as examples of places benefiting from improved aviation access. Naidu said better connectivity can significantly reduce travel time while changing how passengers plan their journeys. According to him, travellers increasingly consider local airport connectivity when choosing destinations, creating opportunities for tourism and regional economic growth.
