Major General Rob De Witt reveals that a coalition of over 40 nations is readying protocols to reopen the Strait of Hormuz, with a heavy focus on mine countermeasures. Speaking to India Today’s Gaurav Sawant, the Deputy Commander emphasised that sea lanes must remain open for trading nations like India and the Netherlands. He detailed the visit of the HNLMS De Ruiter to Kochi and highlighted an upcoming strategic defense pact between the two nations. The General also warned of the rising threat from coordinated drone and missile attacks, stressing the need for international cooperation to protect critical underwater infrastructure and ensure freedom of navigation.
