“Partnership For Global Good”: Piyush Goyal Hails India-EU FTA As Historic Win-Win Deal

Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal has called the India-EU Free Trade Agreement a fair, balanced and win-win deal for businesses and citizens on both sides. Speaking at the third India-EU Trade and Technology Council meeting in Brussels, Goyal said 2026 marked a historic year in bilateral relations. He noted that the agreement reflects a mature partnership which Prime Minister Narendra Modi has described as a partnership for global good. The FTA negotiations concluded in January 2026, while both sides are now working towards ratification and deeper cooperation in trade, technology, investment, resilient supply chains, economic security and sustainable growth.
