PM Modi Hails ‘Make-In-India’ & Viksit Bharat: From Mobile Imports To Defence Production

Prime Minister Narendra Modi highlighted India’s transformation under the “Make in India” push, pointing to the country’s rise in mobile phone manufacturing and defence production at the SRCC Event. Modi said India, which imported most of its mobile phones in 2014, now exports smartphones worth more than ₹2.5 lakh crore. He also highlighted the growth of defence manufacturing, saying production has reached nearly ₹2 lakh crore, while defence exports have risen to around ₹40,000 crore. Looking ahead, Modi said India will become a global manufacturing, research and innovation hub, an agriculture export superpower and eventually have its own space station. He also spoke of India hosting an Olympics that the world would remember.
