Russian President Vladimir Putin has offered Russia's advanced Sukhoi Su-57 stealth fighter to India, marking a significant development in the long-standing India-Russia defence partnership. The fifth-generation aircraft features stealth technology, AI-assisted combat systems, supercruise capability, advanced avionics and thrust-vectoring engines for exceptional manoeuvrability. Putin highlighted the fighter's capabilities while reaffirming Moscow's commitment to defence cooperation with India. While the Indian Air Force already operates Rafale, Su-30MKI and Tejas fighters, the Su-57 offer comes as India also advances its indigenous AMCA fifth-generation fighter programme under the Atmanirbhar Bharat initiative.
