Red Fort Blast: UN Report Attributes 2025 Delhi Attack To Al-Qaeda AQIS

A United Nations Security Council report has attributed the November 2025 blast near Delhi’s Red Fort to Al-Qaeda in the Indian Subcontinent (AQIS). The 38th report of the Analytical Support and Sanctions Monitoring Team also raised concerns over AQIS’s presence in Afghanistan and its attempts to expand into Bangladesh. The report said AQIS leaders are based in Kabul and continue operating with Afghan identity documents. The blast, which killed around 15 people, was investigated by Indian authorities as a terror attack. The development comes ahead of India’s 80th Independence Day celebrations, with around 20,000 security personnel deployed in Delhi.
