A road built under Indore’s Smart City project has come under scrutiny after a section collapsed during a routine water pipeline pressure test. At Gorakund intersection, water burst through the newly built road, causing the surface to suddenly give way. The road, constructed between Bada Ganpati and Krishnapura Chhatri, reportedly cost around ₹40 crore. Indore Municipal Corporation MIC member Rajendra Rathore has raised concerns over the quality of several Smart City projects and sought a high-level probe from senior authorities. Traders in the area have also questioned the road’s construction quality. The damaged stretch will now require repairs.
