Sahil Wakode Death Probe: CCTV Trail, Caste Allegations And Questions Around IIT Bombay

The investigation into the death of IIT Bombay student Sahil Wakode is intensifying, with Mumbai Crime Branch examining CCTV footage from the examination hall, campus and hostel to reconstruct his final hours. Footage reportedly shows Sahil being questioned by Professor Suryanarayana Doolla and taken out of the exam hall after an incident involving a mobile phone. The professor’s statement has not yet been recorded, while investigators continue questioning students and staff. Sahil’s family has alleged caste-based harassment, allegations that remain under investigation. IIT Bombay has apologised for an earlier statement made before the facts were established and has formed a 10-member committee to examine the circumstances surrounding his death.
