SEMICON India 2026 has brought major semiconductor investment announcements as global chip industry leaders outline plans to expand their India footprint. Lam Research said it plans to invest approximately ₹10,000 crore to establish its first silicon component manufacturing facility in India while expanding advanced R&D operations. Applied Materials announced its India Vision 2035, with a planned $5 billion investment over the next decade to strengthen India’s semiconductor ecosystem and global value-chain integration. Micron CEO Sanjay Mehrotra highlighted the company’s growing India presence, saying it now employs over 7,000 people and has begun commercial chip production at its Sanand facility.
