Starlink Row: Exclusive Akash Ambani Reaction After Musk’s ‘Oligarchs’ Allegation

Exclusive: Business Today TV got the first reaction from Reliance Jio Platforms MD Akash Ambani after Elon Musk alleged that Starlink was being blocked by “certain oligarchs” to maintain a “monopolistic chokehold” over Indian consumers. Ambani declined to comment on the allegations, saying Jio remains focused on delivering value to Indian consumers. The row comes as Starlink, Jio Satcom and Eutelsat OneWeb compete to launch satellite communication services in India. The Telecom Ministry defended its authorisation framework as fair and non-discriminatory, stressing security clearances and user-data protection. It also said all three licensees are broadly at the same regulatory stage, pending required approvals.
