In a major diplomatic briefing in Delhi, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov took a direct swipe at Western geopolitical tactics ahead of US President Donald Trump’s visit to China. Invoking Henry Kissinger’s famous triangular diplomacy rule—that Washington should aim for better ties with Moscow and Beijing than they have with each other-Lavrov slammed it as a classic "divide and conquer" game played by colonial elites. Reaffirming Russia's multi-layered agreement with China, particularly in energy supplies, he asserted that Moscow does not interfere in third-country trade. Lavrov emphasized that the Putin-Xi partnership is a "new type of alliance" designed to stabilise the global economy, making it completely immune to Western political maneuvering.
