Xiaomi Mi 6 : Sneak Peek

Successor to last year's Mi 5, Xiaomi Mi 6 looks like a promising device. It packs a 5.15 inch full HD display with 428ppi pixel density, measures 145.2x70.5x7.5 mm and weighs 168g. The home button below the display also features in a fingerprint scanner using Qualcomm's Sense ID technology. Unlike the Mi5, the Mi6 may not come to India within a month of China launch, but Mi India is working on the logistics and launch plans.Clicked using iPhone 7 Plus.

Looking beyond the all-metal body, smartphone manufacturers are increasingly using glass at the rear. Boasting a 3D glass design, the rear glass on the Mi6 has a glossy finish. Unlike Apple iPhone 7 or Samsung Galaxy S8, the Mi 6 is not water- and dust-resistant but the company claims it is splash-resistant.Clicked using iPhone 7 Plus.

With the new Mi 6, Xiaomi is bringing an Apple iPhone 7 Plus-like dual-rear camera set-up. It has got a 12MP wide-angle lens with 4-axis optical image stabilisation along with a 12MP telephoto lens. It offers 2X optical lossless zoom and operates in portrait mode.Clicked using iPhone 7 Plus.

Xiaomi's Mi 6 also boasts top-of-the-line specifications. Just like Samsung Galaxy S8, it runs on Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor. However, Samsung has launched the Exynos variant in India and Mi 6 can be the first smartphone with 835 SoC to be launched here. Paired with 6 GB RAM, it will come in two capacities - 64 GB and 128 GB.In this image: Coral Blue Samsung Galaxy S8+ with 6.2 inch infinity display; Matte Black Apple iPhone 7Plus with 5.5 inch display and Jet Black Xiaomi Mi 6 with 5.15 inch display.
