Congress' worst performance ever
The Congress logged its worst-ever performance in the Bihar assembly elections as Rahul Gandhi's much-hyped Voter Adhikar Yatra against the Election Commission's special intensive revision of electoral rolls failed to do much for the Mahagathbandhan.
Not just this, the Congress also reportedly caused problems during seat-sharing discussions as the alliance could not reach a consensus on at least 12 seats. This led to direct fights in 11 constituencies among its own partners. The RJD and Congress clashed against each other in 6 seats, whereas the CPI and Congress clashed in 4. Mukesh Sahani's VIP and RJD faced off in 2 seats.
How did the AIMIM fare?
The AIMIM won on 5 out of the total 25 seats it contested, leading to a strike rate of 20 per cent. The party won Jokihat, Bahadurganj, Kochadhaman, Amour, and Baisi.
