Companies across sectors are bringing smile in faces of employees this Diwali by restoring salaries, advancing appraisals, offering bonuses to compensate for the financial burden they endured during coronavirus lockdown.Here is what different companies are doing to cheer up their employees this festive season.Anshika Awasthi

Reliance IndustriesMukesh Ambani's Reliance Industries Limited is also rolling back salary cuts for employees of hydrocarbons division.The company is giving out a retrospective performance bonus that had been deferred due to the coronavirus induced lockdown.The oil-to-telecom conglomerate is also expected to offer advance 30 per cent of the variable pay from the next year's salary to its lakh-plus employees as a gesture of goodwill for their efforts during the pandemic, as per the news agency PTI, who spoke to persons familiar with the matter.

Top IT FirmsBesides going on a hiring spree over a past few months, IT major TCS has said that it will be giving hike to employees across all bands. The company will also be rolling out new increments and bonuses during the festive season. HCL, Infosys, Wipro, HCL are also doing the same to cheer up its employees.

Kotak Mahindra BankKotak Mahindra bank has also decided to roll back pay reductions for its top executives earning more than Rs 25 lakh per annum. Employees earning less than Rs 25 lakh had not faced any sort of pay cuts.

Urban Company Home services provider, Urban Company, which has put its appraisal cycle on hold due to pandemic induced constraints, has said that all its employees are now eligible to participate in advance performance appraisal cycle to reward employees ahead of festival season.

PepsiCoPepsiCo organised a virtual Diwali carnival last week to cheer up its employees. The company's staff and their families can visit digital stalls to buy products. The employees can also enjoy live online musical concerts and performances by stand-up comedians as part of the carnival.

Coca-ColaCoca-Cola, which had sent out boxes of sweets, dry fruits and hampers to its employees in India during Diwali last year, has currently tied up with its ecommerce partners to send hampers of its products to employees working from home. It is also said that the company is sending redeemable vouchers to its employees.

Voltas and Vijay Sales Vijay Sales, which primarily deals with consumer electronics and durable retailers, is handing out bonuses to its employees. They are giving one month salary as Diwali bonus to all its employees.Tata Groups' Voltas also gave bonuses to its employees last month. This time employees who generally get their bonuses in July/ August, received it in September due to the COVID-19 impact.
