Trains and flightsPrayagraj is well connected to all the major cities of India via Air, Rail, and Road. The Rail Kumbh app is meant specifically for train bookings for this purpose. 800 special trains will ply to Prayagraj. Air India has announced new flights to Prayagraj from Delhi, Ahmedabad and Kolkata to facilitate the movement of passengers. The Railways was also planning to begin the commercial run of the much awaited Train 18 between Delhi and Varanasi just ahead of the Kumbh Mela

Tent CityA luxurious tent city has been constructed on the banks of the Yamuna and Ganga. These tents can be compared to five-star hotels where amenities are concerned.Food courts, restaurants and entertainment centres have been made available to pilgrims. Over 2000 tents have been put up for this purpose. The tent city is divided into cottages- deluxe, super deluxe and villas. To spend one night at a villa one needs to shell out Rs 32000. A night in dormitories will cost Rs 600.

Become a Swachh Kumbh champIn the run up to the grand Kumbh mela the Prayagraj Mela Pradhikaran launched the Swachh Kumbh Champ Campaign on the Global Handwashing Day, October 15th, 2018.The Campaign will run from October 15, 2018 till March 4, 2019 mobilising people to get directly involved in the cleanliness drive for the festival. The purpose of the campaign is to identify Swachhta champions from amongst citizens/organisations/institutions, based on their activity or methods.

Bathing datesAlthough taking a dip in the sacred waters on all days of the famous Kumbh mela beginning from Makar Sankranti, is considered holy, there are specific auspicious bathing dates.The important bathing dates are Makar Sankranti (January 14), Paush Purnima (January 21), Mauni Amavasya (February 4), Basant Panchami (February 10), Maghi Purnima (February 19) and Maha Shivratri (March 4)

Lost and Found registration centresThe mela authority and the police are setting up 15 Lost and Found registration centres. This facility will facilitate digital registration of lost pilgrims at all centers and help the pilgrims to unite with their families

Helicopter joyrideUttar-pradesh Tourism Coperation (UPSTDC) has arranged the launch of a helicopter service named 'joyride' for a tour of kumbh 2019. This helicopter service will start from 17th January and would continue till February for visitors.

Free Wifi services4000 Wifi hotspots have been set up to provide free and fast wifi services to pilgrims, making it the most tech-friendly Kumbh this year. More than 10 crore messages will be sent to citizens in 3 phases, providing information facilities available for Kumbh 2019.
