India's merchandise exports touched a record $420 billion in FY22. It took a decade for India to incrementally add another $100 billion (the $300 billion mark was touched in FY12) as against reaching $200 billion from $100 billion in only 5 years (FY06 to FY11).

This has led to an adverse effect on public health as most of these foods contain high amounts of sugar or salt and bad fat ingredients that results in increased obesity as well as conditions like diabetes and heart disease.

 Start-ups in India have raised $7.2 billion in Q1 CY22, a substantial increase from $4.5 billion in Q1 CY21, a joint report by industry body NASSCOM and PGA Labs stated. Even as the deal volume increased to 247 transactions in Q1 CY22 across the ecosystem as compared to 175 in a year ago period.
