India's most chosen FMCG brands and why Indians love them

Parle, Amul, Ghari, Brittania, Clinic Plus are some FMCG brands that have emerged as the most chosen brands in India in the year 2019. Worldpanel Division of Kantar has recently come up with its report, Brand Footprint 2020. The report highlights the annual ranking of the FMCG brands on the basis of CRPs (Consumer Reach Points) as brand scores in a year. It ranks the brand which has been bought the most by most consumers.Here are the top 10 most loved FMCG brands in India

1- ParleAs per the latest report, Parle bags the first position on the list, with the highest CRP of 6029 (up by 12 per cent). Earlier in June, popular Parle G biscuits recorded unprecedented sales in the months of March, April, May while the pandemic was on.

2- AmulPopular milk brand Amul is on the second position with the second-highest CRP of 4,632 (up by 17 per cent). Due to COVID 19 pandemic, Food & Beverage brands were chosen by consumers over other categories. Amul is chosen over 100,000 additional times during the COVID months of March-May.

3- Clinic PlusOne of the most popular personal care brands, Clinic Plus is at number three despite the fact that personal and home care brands witnessed a substantial drop in CRPs due to COVID-19 pandemic.

4- BritanniaBritannia is at number four with CRP recorded at 4,215 (up by 29 per cent). In the food category, Britannia has clearly emerged as a success story.

5- GhariRSPL group's Ghadi re-entered the first five club as a result of a 12 per cent increase in Consumer Reach Points (CRPs) which stands at 2,438.

6- TataTata products have recorded a 16 per cent increase in Consumer Reach Points at 2,212 CRP and is at number six.

7- AavinAavin is the trademark of Tamil Nadu Co-operative Milk Producers' Federation Limited, a Tamil Nadu-based milk producer's union. It procures, processes, and sells milk and milk products to its end consumers. The brand made itself to the list of top 10 despite witnessing a decline of 10 per cent in its CRP at 2,080 (-10 %).

8- NandiniNandini Milk and Dairy Products, provide the best class Cow Milk products to the consumer. It has also made it to the top 10 list. The product is at number eight with CRP at 2,025 CRP (mn), down by 2 per cent.

9- ColgateColgate is the highest penetrated brand at 88%. The brand is at number 9 with an increased CRP (1,868) of 23 per cent.

10- WheelPopular laundry detergent, Wheel, manufactured by Hindustan Unilever Ltd is at number 10 with an increased CRP of 14 per cent. Its CRP stands at 1,630.
