Amid all the uncertainties surrounding US elections 2020, a small town has elected its mayor in a landslide victory. The mayor is French bulldog named Wilbur Beast. Anshika Awasthi

Wilber Beast as new mayor As per the Fox news, the small community of Rabbit Hash in Kentucky chose the French bulldog as its new mayor. Wilbur won the election by 13,143 votes, as per the Rabbit Hash Historical Society.

Amazing vote count"Mayoral election in Rabbit Hash has called Wilbur Beast as the new mayor with an amazing 13,143 votes (highest winning total ever) toward an election total of 22,985!" the Rabbit Hash Historical Society, which owns the town, announced in a Facebook post on November 4, 2020.

Other cute candidates Just so you know, there were some other cute candidates present as well. Jack Rabbit the beagle and Poppy the golden retriever acquired second and third position. A 12-year-old border collie, Lady Stone retained the same position as ambassador of the town.

Donate and voteAccording to Kentucky.com, Rabbit Hash, an unincorporated community along the Ohio River, has been electing a dog as its mayor since the 1990s. Residents have to donate $1 to the historical society in order to cast their vote.

Duties as a mayor Wilbur's duties after he commences office would be to help raise money for the Rabbit Hash Historical Society followed by other charitable causes.

The first canine mayor The first mayor of Rabbit Hash was Goofy Borneman who entered the office in 1998 when the mayoral race for Rabbit Hash started. Goofy won the election with a thumping majority and Rabbit Hash's mayorship has been started by canines since then.
