Euromonitor is out with its list of most visited city destinations in the world in 2019. The report shows that Asian cities have dominated the list with over 40 new entries, in which capital city Delhi joined the rally for the first time. The report highlights the top 100 cities based on 2018 international arrivals. The research covers arrival information of overseas visitors about their timings, who stayed for more than 24 hours and less than one year in over 400 cities worldwide.The study talks about visitors who had traveled for business, leisure and to visit family or friends.

Tourism has surged in Istanbul, the most populous city of Turkey. Istanbul is most likely to host more than 14.7 million tourists by the year end. The city had 13,433,000 international arrivals in 2018. Istanbul stands at number ten on the list.

Dubai, which has witnessed growing momentum in tourism, has welcomed 12.08 million international visitors in the first nine months of 2019, according to the figures released by Dubai's Department of Tourism & Commerce Marketing (Dubai Tourism). The Middle-Eastern hub comes in at seventh position on Euromonitor list.

6- Paris, FranceParis is likely to benefit from visitors post-Brexit. Visitors overseas will prefer choosing the French capital over London amid Brexit uproar. The city is at number six.

5- SingaporeAccording to data from the Singapore Tourism Board, almost 5 million travelers came to visit the city between July and September. The surge in overseas tourists was also witnessed due to the reopening of the city's grand dame, Raffles Hotel, which is a 132-year-old iconic hotel-the birthplace of the "Singapore Sling". For now, the city stands at the fifth position on the Euromonitor list.

1- Hong KongHong Kong, despite political unrest and protests in 2019, has been named the most visited city destination this year. More than 50 per cent of all visitors come from China. The city made it to the top despite witnessing an 8.7 per cent visitor drop this year. The anti-government protests and violent clashes with police, leading to the shutdown of Hong Kong's airport have deterred visitors too.  What makes it attractive are the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macau bridge, commissioning of high-speed rail link, natural heritage and shopping centres.
