Can artificial intelligence help solve India’s long-standing healthcare challenges? Experts believe it can - if used wisely. With foundational systems like Aadhaar for identity and UPI for seamless transactions, India is uniquely positioned to build scalable, financially sustainable healthcare models powered by AI. By mapping health data to identity and using AI-driven risk stratification, doctors can detect diseases earlier, prioritise high-risk patients and keep millions healthier - far beyond urban centres. AI can also help spread medical expertise by enabling doctors to analyse scans and data remotely, improving access in rural and underserved areas. But technology alone isn’t the answer. Doctors, nurses and healthcare workers remain central to care delivery. The future of healthcare, experts say, lies in AI supporting humans - not replacing them - while expanding access, efficiency and quality across the country.
