Five reasons you should buy Apple Watch

Apple's chief executive Tim Cook on Monday unveiled the price and apps of the smartwatch.

Cook said the watch would typically last owners 18 hours between charges, providing a day's worth of use.

Thousands of new apps had already been developed for the Watch ahead of it going on sale, the firm said.

Apple also highlighted that its wrist-worn device could be used to make touchless payments and receive phone calls. You can use the watch for phone calls - the watch is connected to your iPhone using Bluetooth.

Some of the unique features of the Apple Watch include its taptic engine for providing physical cues and messages, as well as notifications; heart rate monitor and motion sensors for activity tracking; Built-in Bluetooth support for connecting to accessories; and the digital crown, which allows for control without sacrificing screen real estate.

Facebook, Instagram, car pick-up service Uber and the Chinese messaging app WeChat are among those confirmed to have developed software for the device.
