Agri exports up 18.5% in Apr 20-Feb 21

India's exports of agriculture and allied commodities rose by 18.5 per cent to Rs 2.7 lakh crore during April 2020-February 2021 from Rs 2.3 lakh crore in the same period in 2019-20.

Wheat exports posted huge growth over last year, i.e., increasing from Rs 425 crore in April - Feb 2020 to Rs 3,283 crore in April - February 2021.

Exports of cereals increased from Rs 1,318 crore in April - February 2020 to Rs 4,542 crore in April - February 2021.

Country has witnessed significant growth of 132 per cent in export of (non-Basmati) rice. Export of non-Basmati rice has gone up from Rs 13,030 crore in 2019-20 to Rs 30,277 crore in 2020-21.

India also enhanced export of soya meals by 132 per cent. Soya meal has gone up from Rs 3,087 crore in 2019-20 to Rs 7,224 crore in 2020-21.

Spices exports reached to Rs 26,257 crore in April - February 2021 as compared to Rs 23,562 crore in April - February 2020 leading a growth of 11.44 per cent.

Exports of fresh vegetables amounted to Rs 4,780 crore during April - February 2021 as compared to Rs 4,067 crore in previous year.
