Railway freight traffic increased by 26.6 % in Mar 2021

Railway freight increased by 26.6 % on Y-o-Y basis as compared to a growth of 5.5 % in Feb 2021.  

Freight traffic of coal increased by 13.4 % in Mar 2021. It decreased by 2.4% in Feb 2021.

Railway freight traffic of iron ore stood at 16.8 million tonnes, an increase of 24.1 % Y-o-Y in Mar 2021.

Railway freight of cement increased by 77 % on yearly basis in Mar 2021 as compared to a growth of 15.4 % in Feb 2021.  

Container traffic too touched an all-time high of 6.6 million tonnes in Mar 2021. It recorded a growth of 34.6% in Mar 2021 on a Y-o-Y  basis.
