Indian Railways' revenue-earning freight traffic reached 110.1 million tonnes in November from 108.3 million tonnes in October. This was the highest traffic recorded since January 2020.

Freight traffic in November grew 9 per cent, year-on-year (YoY). This was the fourth straight month when revenue earning freight traffic recorded a YoY growth.

Traffic of foodgrain moderated to 5.1 million tonnes in November after touching an all-time high of 6.3 million tonnes in October this year. Nonetheless, food traffic in November was 66.7 per cent higher than its year-ago level.
