China’s GDP growth has fallen to 3% in 2022 – the second lowest in 50 years. This is a direct result of its draconian Zero-Covid policies which shut down cities and crucial industrial zones for weeks. Faced with erratic supplies from their biggest source, companies are increasingly searching for alternate sources, giving India an edge in its efforts to bring production to the sub-continent. India Today's Rahul Kanwal spoke to Gita Gopinath, First Deputy Managing Director of the International Monetary Fund to discuss India’s status as favourable investment destination. They conversation, on the sidelines of the World Economic Forum at Davos, also dwelled on how will China's growth momentum be like in the next few months.
