Rising global bond yields are becoming an important factor in fund managers' investment decisions. Aashish Somaiyaa, CEO of WhiteOak Capital AMC, explains why India's 10-year government bond yield could plateau around 7.5-7.6% despite rising US yields and inflation. He points to the narrowing gap between Indian and US bond yields, changing macroeconomic conditions and India's improved credit rating. He also highlights how a potential depreciation in the US dollar or a slowdown in the US economy could bring Indian bond yields lower.
