NSE MD & CEO Ashishkumar Chauhan discusses the exchange’s strategy to diversify beyond weekly options amid evolving SEBI regulations. Chauhan says weekly options now account for around 42% of NSE’s total revenue, while equities, monthly futures and options contribute the balance. He says NSE has expanded into newer revenue streams including index revenues, market data and terminals. Chauhan also outlines the exchange’s product pipeline, including electricity futures, a proposed coal spot exchange, bond index futures and Electronic Gold Receipts (EGR). He says EGR is already live on NSE and could open the door to future products. In this conversation, Siddharth Zarabi, Group Editor - Business Today, speaks with Ashishkumar Chauhan, MD & CEO, NSE, on regulation, diversification and the exchange’s next growth opportunities.
