Russia has assured India of uninterrupted fertilizer supplies as rising import costs put pressure on the government’s subsidy bill. India has already spent more than 55% of its ₹1.77 lakh crore fertilizer subsidy allocation for FY27, with DAP and MOP prices remaining elevated. Business Today’s Karishma Asoodani explains how the assurance could support India’s fertilizer supplies, ease short-term pressure and help the government manage import requirements amid ongoing global uncertainties and changing trade dynamics.
