On the eve of Rashtriya Ekta Diwas, Union Home Minister Amit Shah launched a sharp attack on the Congress, accusing it of sidelining Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel’s legacy. Speaking in Patna ahead of Patel’s 150th birth anniversary, Shah credited Prime Minister Narendra Modi for giving India’s Iron Man his rightful honour — from the Statue of Unity to the upcoming national Unity Parade on October 31. The Home Minister announced that a grand national parade will now take place every year on October 31, similar in scale to the Republic Day parade. The event also marks the start of a 15-day ‘Ek Bharat Parv’ in Ekta Nagar, celebrating India’s unity and tribal heritage.
