Ashwini Vaishnaw Responds To Overwhelming Response To PLI IT Hardware Scheme

Union IT Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw announced a strong reception for the hardware Production Linked Incentive (PLI) scheme concerning laptop and PC manufacturing. Notably, 32 applications have been submitted thus far as the scheme's application window nears closure. Vaishnaw revealed prominent names like HP India, Dell, Acer, Lenovo, and Thomson among the companies set to manufacture laptops. He also mentioned that discussions are ongoing with Apple Inc. regarding iPad production in India. The PLI schemes, aligned with the AatmaNirbhar Bharat and Make in India initiatives, exemplify the government's commitment to self-reliance and domestic manufacturing growth across diverse sectors. Furthermore, Vaishnaw noted that HP Enterprises will undertake server production as part of this transformative endeavor.
