Northern China, including Beijing, is under the highest alert as heavy rainfall since Sunday has caused flooding in several cities. Videos online display the downpour inundating streets and sweeping away cars in Beijing's Fangshan and Fengtai Districts, located about 70 kilometers from the city center. Authorities issued a red alert for rainstorms on Sunday and raised the flood alert to its highest level on Monday.
